Dr Olumide Akadiri, the Chief Medical Director of Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa, says the hospital can now boast of modern equipment. Akadiri, who made the disclosure in an interview with the news men on Saturday in Okitipupa, said the development had restored the trust patients have in the hospital.
“The general hospital can now boast of modern and sophisticated equipment to tackle the problems of patients at affordable cost.
“I want to tell you that patients no longer waste their money in private hospitals which is costly and meant for the rich,’’ the chief director said.
He said that the hospital now had series of modern equipment such as scanning and Electrocardiograph (ECG) machines to check electrical changes in heart.
“We have also acquired other modern machines in our dental and eye clinics.
“Ever since we acquired those machines, we have recorded high number of patients in the hospital.
“In fact, you need to see how patients have been trooping here for series of cases and we have been attending to them accordingly.
“We now treat heart related cases and perform series of operations successfully with the modern equipment.
“We thank the state government for providing such equipment that has made the public to trust our services in the hospital,’’ he said.
Akadiri appealed to the state government to employ more staff for the hospital to be able to handle the influx of patients coming for tests, checkup and treatment on a daily basis.
