Polio: Kano LGC immunises 33,000 children

The bebeji Local Government Council in Kano state has immunised 33,000 children below the age of five against polio this month.
The Primary Health Care Coordinator of the council, Malam Bello Yusuf, disclosed this in a review meeting held in Bebeji on Thursday.
He said the council had placed high priority on the health of its people, especially women and children, who are the most vulnerable groups in the society.
The Chairman of the council, Alhaji Mudal Umar who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, stressed the commitment of his administration to deliver quality healthcare also commended efforts of traditional and religious leaders as well as development partners who contributed to the fight against the disease.
