‘Primary healthcare strategic to community welfare’

The Kwara state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Atolagbe Alege, has described primary healthcare, including immunisation, maternal and child care as strategic to community welfare.

Alhaji Alege spoke in Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state during the inauguration of the renovated Oke-Ola Primary Health care Centre.

According to him, the state government will embark on extensive immunisation programme to guide against deadly diseases in children.

He said that the state in August, introduced pneumonia vaccine for the immunisation of children.

“This centre will be giving immunisation to our children. I appeal to our mothers to try as much as possible to get immunisation for their children at this centre. Immunisation is very important and germane for our children,” the commissioner said.
