YOSPIS hails Dr Magashi’s Appointment as Co-Chair of the Kano State Anti-Drug Abuse Task Force

The Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) heartily congratulates Dr Aminu Garba Magashi on his well-deserved appointment as Co-Chair of the Kano State Anti-Drug Abuse Task Force by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

In a statement issued by YOSPIS’s Executive Director, Ms Zainab Nasir Ahmad, said the appointment is a testament to Dr Magashi’s unwavering commitment to public health, youth development, and the fight against drug abuse and other social vices.

“His decades of leadership in public health, policy advocacy, and community development have positively impacted countless lives across Kano State and Nigeria,” she said.

Ms Zainab stated that as a long-standing partner of YOSPIS, Dr Magashi has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to promoting healthier communities and supporting initiatives aimed at preventing substance abuse, empowering young people, and strengthening health systems.

“We are confident that his expertise, vision, and collaborative leadership will significantly enhance the work of the Task Force.

“We also commend the Kano State Government for strengthening the fight against drug abuse through strategic collaboration with civil society organizations, public health experts, and other key stakeholders. This inclusive approach is vital to addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse and safeguarding the future of our young people” she added.

YOSPIS reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Kano State Anti-Drug Abuse Task Force and working closely with all relevant stakeholders to promote prevention, awareness, rehabilitation, and community-based interventions that will contribute to a safer, healthier, and drug-free Kano State.

“Once again, we congratulate Dr Magashi on this important appointment and wish him success as he undertakes this critical responsibility in service to the people of Kano State.”
