The Rotary Club of Maitama Central, Abuja has called on government, individuals and corporate bodies to build a health centre for Zika Kuchi Community in Mpape.

The call was made in Abuja by the president of the club, Dr. Olu Wilson who said that Zika Kuchi is a large community of settlers who lack access to portable water and healthcare facilities.

“They don’t even have water, they don’t have any form of health care service. The place is dilapidated. We are looking for support to see how we can build a new health care facility, and provide a borehole in that community for the people,” she said.

Dr. Wilson said that the condition of the people of Zika Kuchi is pathetic and called for urgent attention and action.

On how the Zika Kuchi community was discovered, she replied that what they do is to send out representatives on a search for such communities.

She also said that in this period that the nation is undergoing recession, it is proper to provide a food bank for people who are hungry.
