Kano releases N236m for Routine Immunization programme

The Kano State Government has released the sum of N236 million for Routine Immunization (RI) programme in the state.

Health Reporters exclusively gathered that the released was disclosed on Tuesday during the State Immunization Programme Meeting which held at the State Primary Health Care Management Board (SPHCMB).

It was gathered that during the meeting, all the four thematic areas are given update in the implementation of RI programs in the state.

During a presentation by the Finance Working Group which make a case as follow up of the Kano State legislative retreat in Kaduna, it was stated that the state government has fulfilled its pledges of paying its own contribution to RI basket fund immunization activities.

According to the document made available to Health Reporters, the release was made in installment.

The sum of N50 million was released on May 3, N54, 999 million on July 13, N105 million on September 19 and N27, 945, 388 on November 21, 2016.

It was reported that with the release, the Kano state government has almost paid its own part.
